Been a bit busy.

Moving in, getting job(s), etc.
Here are a few cool things:

From my new favorites,Midnight Juggernauts. Road to Recovery is sort of old news (by like, 2 weeks) but good nonetheless. Whatever. The Popular Computer remix is good enough to post next year if I felt like. Can't wait for Dystopia to drop in the US.

MP3: Tombstone (Popular Computer Remix) - Midnight Juggernauts (YSI)

AAANNNDD one more thing before I get back to basking in my 90 degree box-sized chinatown apartment, which isn't actually too bad, if I don't walk around anywhere, or breathe. From Goose's Bring it On:

Regality + other stuff

So, I'm moving out of my house in the country today- packing. In the midst of packing, I've decided to make a five track mini playlist + a bonus MP3 from the Chemical Bros Japanese version of We Are The Night. Duke Dumont's new Regality EP is fantastic (specifically When I Hear Mu'Sic..), and I'm posting Dance to Our Disco remixed by Nightmoves because it is, well, the best remix on the Dance to Our Disco vinyl. St. Sebastian's Drunk Lover is a bit too minimal for my taste but enjoyable nonetheless. I basically posted Seven Day Weekend because I wish that such things existed. Plus it's f ing awesome disco house. Pick it all up @ Juno or Phonica.

MP3: Final Level - Duke Dumont (YSI)
MP3: Dance to Our Disco (Nightmoves Remix) - Punks Jump Up (YSI)
MP3: Do It Again (Olav Basoski Dub) - Chemical Brothers (YSI)
MP3: Drunk Lover - St. Sebastian (YSI)
MP3: Seven Day Weekend (Motor City Mix) - Open House (YSI)

++MP3: No Need (JPN BONUS TRACK) - Chemical Brothers (YSI)

back to packing.

LIARS etc

Liars' S/T album comes out in August on Mute. It's the most interesting album I've heard so far this year. Cultivated lo-fi vibrations and sounds are indeed the framework of a Liars' album. This one's missing that New Jersey-woods-esque thing they had going on with They Were Wrong, So We Drowned, which I sort of liked..

S/T:
MP3: Pure Unevil - Liars (YSI)
MP3: What Would They Know - Liars (YSI)

Wichita just released SMD's I believe remixed by Switch on 12". I believe that I'm tired of I Believe, and even though I do love Switch, and the swollen bass he puts forth (and the cool whistles in the remix), I'm going to skip on it, and give you the ridiculously awesome b-side. Enjoy.

Right!

So, my computer is now officially fixed. A big "Yes!" for buying Apple Care last year.

I would've jumped on Idealism right away if I had the means last month. It's a fresh album, Digitalism is unique, without being cliché unique. Think SMD and Justice without as many hooks and you've got the idea. My favorites on the album are Pogo, I Want I Want, and Idealism.. but I'm not posting those, because I think I have before.

From Idealism:
MP3: Apollo-Gize - Digitalism (YSI)
MP3: Homezone - Digitalism (YSI)

Modeselektor's Happy Birthday comes out sometime in September via Bpitch. Loving the album, which is more impressive than 2005's Hello Mom!, also released on the label. Cool transitions between tracks on this one. Weird but cool. (features Thome Yorke, Maximo Park, etc.. "Yes!").

From Happy Birthday:
MP3: The First Rebirth - Modeselektor (YSI)
MP3: Let Your Love Grow - Modeselektor (YSI)

Let's see.. Have got some tracks from a very Swedish Lo-Fi-FNK. The Change Channel 12" was released via Moshi Moshi a few months ago, though I'm a bit late on posting.. (for good reason) Not feeling the Kaos remix as much as the original. Still worth a listen: A danceable, easy to like beat.

From the Change Channel 12":
MP3: Change Channel (Kaos Remix) - Lo-FI-FNK (YSI)
MP3: Change Channel - Lo-Fi-Fnk (YSI

I start school next month, moving to New York next week. I lost all of my music files post the fix by restoring my computer. I'll get them back eventually.. every single last one, damnit.

One last spurt of MP3 goodness before you kindly navigate away:

From Spoon's Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga limited edition bonus disc:
MP3: I Can Feel It Fade Like An AM Single - Spoon (YSI)
MP3: I Got Mine - Spoon (YSI)
MP3: Dracula's Cigarette - Spoon (YSI)

I know, amazing. Spoon. And this blog. More to post, will soon-
